Hi there,

I am currently on a work holiday visa. It expires June, 2016. I wish to extend it.
I read on the website, "If you participated in IEC before 2015, you are eligible for a final participation of up to 24 months in the category of your choice.
You must be between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of application." When I first applied I was 30. Now I am 31. So does that mean I cant apply?
I filled out the questionnaire and it said I may be eligible to apply again. Even though I am 31. Is that right?
Also I answered no to the question - ''do you have a written job offer.''
I have a full time job but didn't receive a written job offer. So what should I have answered?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Wendy

Correct - because you are 31 you are too told to take advantage of the working holiday visa program again.

If you wish to remain in Canada and work, you will need to obtain a regular closed work permit. To obtain a closed work permit, you will first have to get your employer to issue you a full time job offer. Secondly, your employer will need to obtain an approved LMIA (this process can take 4-6 months). Only once the LMIA is approved can you then apply for a closed work permit.

Without an approved LMIA and a written job offer you cannot extend your work permit.
