Hi,
First I want to introduce myself. I came to Canada as an international student and completed my masters last year September. Then I got my PGWP in October last year and currently on my PGWP, working in Toronto, Ontario with a 2-year contract.

Now here is my situation, I got engaged this month Grin. So I need some suggestions here. I want to call my spouse initially as a temporary resident(either work or visit visa) and then when she is here, I want to fill express entry together. I got my masters degree from Quebec, Canada so I can't go for the provincial nomination. Can you guys suggest me with your own experiences that can it be done? If yes then on which visa should I bring her work or visit? If none is possible then which route should I take?

P.S: The members of this forum are awesome, they helped me a lot while filling up my student visa application and I hope a similar response now.

P.S: Sorry for being inactive for so long I was busy in my final years of study and then job search. If anyone wants some help regarding student visa let me know.

Thanks a lot

You will apply for Temporary Resident Visa (worker) for your spouse. You will attach all your documents with her application.

Up to the best of my knowledge, she should be a graduate.

Once , she get TRV, she will come over. At first landing, immigration will issue her Work Permit that would be minimum as long as your work permit end date.

good luck

You have to get married first and then you can sponsor your spouse, if you are only engaged, your best route would be Visit Visa.

Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. To clarify she has a masters degree. This clarified my first point but if she is here on a work/visit visa can we both apply together on express entry, for sure after one year of working experience here and we have enough points. If yes, is it recommended?
Thanks again

Yes its recommended, and yes you can apply together no problem, but you will have to me "married".

Thanks, and good luck!

Thanks a lot, yes I will be getting married soon. I will be in touch with you if any other information is needed. Can I PM you next time?
Lastly, can you just give me a link of a website to calculate and verify my Express Entry points. I know there are many available but I am a little confused because some give you points in figure of 100's and some in figure of 10's so maybe I am going to a wrong website.

Thank you

in my opinion you can get a tourist visa for her. After marriage bring her to Canada and do open work permit based on your WP.

She can continue her stay until she know her decision.Anybody can come in Visitor visa. you no need to marry and then process her WP.
