She have completed her b.pharmacy in the year 2010 and have got 6yrs of job experience. I have applied in the first week of June 2016 and i haven't got any reply from the Canadian immigration yet. How much time its gonna take and when will I get the acceptance letter?? What will be the next step?? Can anyone provide me the complete information. Regards...

So you have created your profile in your wifes name and for both of you her score is 290? Have you taken language tests or converted your degrees?

If you only have 290 points you are unlikely to ever be asked to apply for immigration.

At the moment, people who apply are given a score out of 1200 points. 600 points are obtained by having a valid job offer or a province who wants you there.

Out of 600 points you get points for education which you pay to have converted to a Canadian one, work experience and your language test results.

Most people here have 400-500 points. People who have degrees and high language scores.

Canada have only asked people above certain point scores to apply, this happens a couple of times a month and the lowest they have asked is 450 which happened last year.

Anyone above that score sends off their applications.

With 290 points your only chance is getting a sponsored job offer from a Canadian employer.

Best of luck and read this for more help: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/express-entry-in-a-nutshell-t394158.0.html

Have you converted your degrees to Canadian equivalents? Are you able to improve your English scores?

With 290 points you are very unlikely to ever get invited to apply without a province nominating you or you getting a job offer (this gives you an extra 600 points).

You can boost your CRS to 470, if;

  • You have an ECA for your pharmacy degree from PEBC
  • Your husband has a Canadian equivalent of a Bachelor's degree (ECA from WES)
  • You both score following bands in the IELTS:
- Listening: 8
- Reading: 7
- Writing: 7
- Speaking: 7

450 points if your husband doesn't take IELTS and you retake to get at least the 8,7,7,7.

And if your husband gets 6 in each band, in IELTS, your score will become 462.

With a score of 450 or above, you will have very high chances for getting a PNP invitation (especially once OINP re-opens). And if you are successful in getting a provincial nomination, you will get extra 600 points, making your overall CRS high enough to get an ITA.
Good luck!

I have higher (native) language scores than that, as does my partner. We both have converted degrees and have only 440 points...

Depends on your degrees.

Pharmacy gets her 135 CRS points (it's a professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession).
