Strange ! I think it is best to ask people from WES or mail CIC and ask them. Do NOT fill in the form before you confirm it with somebody!

But if I had to pick one, I'd say your PG Diploma is classified under "Two or more Certificates, Diplomas, Degree" and NOT under the Master's category. This is only my opinion. It is not advisable to proceed unless you confirm it with either WES or with CIC.

Hope this helped!

Thanks,

Raj

Thanks Raj, much appreciated...

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
I already have police verification certificate of the year 2010, when I applied for canada visa under FSW NOC 0213. But, I got rejection due to "Non Evaluation of my Academics thru WES.". So, would like to ask you that Should I submit old police verification certificate in Canada EE or I need to get it recent?

Hi Friends,

I had my medical in June 28, 2014. Today I have sent passport for Visa stamping and expecting it back in 5-8 days.

Is there any chance of Visa Expiry date beyond 1 year of medical. I am worried as only one month left for 28th June and cost of landing would be very high if I have to manage on my own so soon.

I have a question.
I recently noticed that if the new manager in my workplace does not give me a letter of employment, I can get it from my own manager, when I was working there.
Therefore, now, I want to add my canadian work experience to my express entry profile.

Now I have a few questions:

1. i have all the necessary documents from my workplace, T4s, NOAs, job offer including the duties on the letterhead, even, the letter accepting my leave for 1.5 month to visit my family, etc. but now the supervisor has changed and the do not give me an employment letter. But my own supervisor at the time, who left there after me, has agreed to give me a notorized letter of employment. Does cic accept such a letter? I include a detailed affidavit as to why I cannot give the letter of employment on the company letterhead. Is that enough?

2. In case I get the points in the express entry system and come out of the pool with this 35 points for canadian work experience, what happens if they do not accept my letter of employment? Dobthey reject my PR application completely? What do they do?

3. Before creating the express entry profile, I took the eligibility assessment test and I was eligible. Therefore I could create my profile. But I said that I didn't have one year canadian work experience. But because I was eligible anyway, I could create my express entry profile. Now, do I have to take the test again and create the profile again, or I just add my canadian work exprience to the current profile?

Please help me if you know anything about these issues.

Hello Everyone!

I'm thinking about getting my ECA done from WES and in the process, I'm facing an issue with filling up the info on WES' site. Below mentioned are my profile's details -

Country of Citizenship and Current residence - India
Country of Education - India
NOC Code - 2173
Qualifications - B. Tech (CSE)

While filling the information about educational credentials on WES' portal, do we have to fill information about 12th class and 10th class examinations too? If Yes, is the following information correct?

Name of Credential (from drop down menu) - Senior Secondary (12th Class) Examination Certificate
Name of Institution (from drop down menu)- Central Board of Secondary Education (Should I fill the name of my school here or it is correct to mention the name of board?)
Institution Type (from drop down menu) - Professional Education (Should I select other options here?)
Years attended - From: 2006 To: 2007 Year Awarded: 2007

Similarly for 10th Class Examination,

Name of Credential (from drop down menu) - All India Secondary School Examination Certificate
Name of Institution (from drop down menu)- Central Board of Secondary Education (Should I fill the name of my school here or it is correct to mention the name of board?)
Institution Type (from drop down menu) - Professional Education (Should I select other options here?)
Years attended - From: 2004 To: 2005 Year Awarded: 2005

Yet, I've understood that

a. I've to send WES a photostat of my degree or a provisional degree certificate on my own and this has to be a simple xerox without any attestation whatsoever.

b. My university has to send individual mark sheets indicating all subjects taken and marks obtained for all years of post-secondary study – issued by the institution responsible for conducting the examinations OR I may have photocopies of my original mark sheets attested and dated by the Controller of Examinations or Registrar’s Office, put them in an official sealed envelope and forward it on my own to WES.

Regarding b., rather than getting individual semester mark sheets signed, is it alright if I get a full fledged transcript signed and attested? (a transcript lists all the subjects semester-wise and yet mentions the grades one got.) Also, do I need to send signed and attested copies of 10th and 12th Class Mark sheets too?

I have received my WES report today and i'm confused as to what category i should choose in my education

BSc = Bachelor's degree (four years)

Diploma = Completion of an undergraduate certificate-level program

Hence, should i choose "Two or more Certificates........" or is it only a "Four years bachelors?'" can i claim points for both?

Please help,

Based on my understanding, you would fall under this category:
Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years
