Express Entry in a nutshell

Hey Folks,

I'm creating my express entry profile and for the work experience part I need some advice.

1) I'm above 450 CRS with just 2 year work experience that is till end of 2016. I can add 2 more years but want to avoid the hassle of documentation as it won't matter.
Can I do that ? Is it fine ?

2) I will be claiming points for self employed work in a partnership firm. What kind of documents do I need to provide ?
According to what I've read
A) Establishment - Partnership Deed / VAT / GST registration
B) Letters from Suppliers and Customers.
How many letters in all should be provided?
And what should be written in these letters?
C) I know it is very critical to show duties and responsibilities, how can I do that in my case?

3)I can count my work experience from date of completion of my course or the date of my convocation? As there is a gap of around 6 months between these 2 dates.

Thanks in advance guys.

Just to add, if you are a govt. employee, you have to get NOC from your department. Without which, IRCC will never accept your application.
If not, then as answered by someone else, you are good to go.
Thanks @mr.preetsingh . I'm a govt. employee - so as you said I need to get NOC(No Objection Certificate). Is it mandatory as I am told that by someone in deptt. that deptt. does not give NOC in such case as I will have to resign in case I get PR.
But I can get ref. letter from my immediate superior on his official letter head containing all required details. Will it be ok then cuz the letter head will have deptt. name on it ?
Pls advise.

Hi All,

I have an urgent question.

I just changed my NOC from 2173 to 2174 in my EE profile and transmitted it but within few minutes I got an email from CIC saying, "you are not eligible for Express
Entry at this time." and I am not able to edit anything (it's locked)

I think I have seen similar post in this group. Can anyone please help me out? I am kind of freaking out

Hello guys ... need some help again.. @hope2018 , @gio1 and other friends..
In my passport, my whole name i.e. " Shubhdeep Singh" is in Given Name(s) column and Surname column is blank as I don't have any. While making EE account last name is marked as "required". CIC instructs as follows :-
Your surname is your family name. It is also called your “last name.” When filling out applications, type your surname as it appears on your passport, travel or identity document.

Do not use initials.

If you do not have a family name on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field and leave the given name field blank. Do not enter “Not applicable,” “*” or “NA.”

Now while taking IELTS I entered my whole name in first name and entered "-" in family name, and hence, in my TRF my name is in first name column and in family name column it shows "-".
Now, what should I do? Will it be ok if give my whole name in last name column while making EE account as per CIC instructions even though my TRF shows my name in first name column and "-" in family name column.
Please advise. I'm in great dilemma.
Thanks.

NOC is mandatory. You will have to resign first and then fill your application. The work history details change in your application post resignation.
Reference letter is still mandatory but that doesn't solve the purpose of NOC.

its not a problem at all.

Thanks for replying @mr.preetsingh . What kind of NOC should I get ? I mean what should be its wording ? Will it be like " I want to apply for permanent residency visa for Canada, Please issue me a NoObjection Certificate for applying for PR ? It seams odd as why my deptt. should have any objection with me applying for PR. Moreover, Is NOC mandatory only in case of govt. deptt. ?If yes , Is Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (a limited company), where I'm working right now, having major shareholding of state govt. considered govt. deptt. for NOC purposes. Pls reply. Thanks.

NOC is mandatory by default.

The only alternative option is to mention in the LOE in detail about why you are not able to produce it. And your intentions about resigning post getting PR. Hope Visa officer agrees to this.

And by the way, you are working in a Govt. Department of India, you are a liability to Indian Government. This is the biggest reason of getting NOC. I hope you know, even an NOC is required while filling Passport application.

I appreciate your advise @mr.preetsingh . But I need a little more clarification.
Suppose I'm working in a private company , Do I need NOC in that case too, bcz I haven't seen any mention of No Objection Certificate on CIC official website. I'm asking this because I think my organisation is just a company like other companies but with state govt. having share in it. Its not a govt. deptt. like Income tax deptt, or municipal corporations or police deptt. that run directly under govt. Sorry for arguing but pls help as I have no idea about this No Objection certificate thing. Thanks again.

For private companies, NOC is not required. I am a professional consultant, giving you the best advice. Lets not discuss which company is what? I belong to Punjab and know the PSPCL pretty well.

The best is:
1. Get NOC if you can, else
2. Get the reference letter and if your deptt. says, there is no need of NOC, then get that in writing as well
2.1 Then you can mention all these details in LOE.

I have a police officer case in which without NOC, visa officer is not providing VISA.
on other hand, I had a Central police deptt. case wherein nobody asked for NOC.

So it really depends on case to case however for govt. departments, you have to be ready.

Its up to you to accept the best options which i gave you from my experience.

Thanks that's of gr8 help. But what if my deptt. refuses (orally) to provide NOC?
