A billion Congrats!!!

For the 10000 th post. Wow.. I am sure 1/10 of your post would have benefited at least 1000 applicants to count the least.

A great selfless service rendered to so many applicants.. A rare human quality in this era. Hats off Smiley

Your suggestions, guidance to so many PR complex scenarios of applicants would be remembered by all.

Keep up the hope and spirits of this forum, sparing some time.

Hi,

I am new to this process and thanks to this forum for the excellent information. I have decided not to go with any consultant but do it myself, however, I would keep bothering the forum members with certain queries which may been answered earlier and thank you everyone for their patience.

I am an Indian CA and US CPA working in Big4 in India with experience of 10+ years. I have gone through the process and have a few preliminary queries:
1. If I am applying in my name so would my spouse would be considered as a dependent or I have to apply separately;
2. Would the documentation required be only mine or I need her documents also (i.e. IELTS, WES certification etc);
3. Is the immigration specific to any particular State and what are the implications if you select a particular State in the form?

Thanks

Hi, Firstly wlcm to the forum
1: Your Spouse would be considered as a dependent.. you dont have to apply seperately...
2: Your are mandatory (IELTS AND WES), For your wife its your choice whether you want to do IELTS and WES or not because it will increase your CRS Score..So my suggestion is to first check your CRS score by this link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp or tell me your CRS Score..
3: EE and PNP both are diff but have same route from PNP So if you'll create your EE profile and get an ITA with a good CRS score then you can move to any state in Canada else you can apply for PNP under each state. Currently ontatio is closed. Check this link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp

Hi,

We have applied for PNP for Ontario on 8th Jan but still no update from their end. It has been about 150 days and we do not know what we can do to get to know the status. Any suggestions here please?

Thanks,
Shalini

Currently AORs are being sent to mid December applicants. There is nothing much that you can do than to wait to hear from them. Even if you write or call them, you get a standard response which is not of much help. Follow the December and January thread on the forum, so you can know tentatively when to expect AOR.

Dear Raman,

Thanks for your revert. What do we mean by "Currently ontatio is closed". This is what is causing confusion in my mind on reading different posts?

Vaibhav

Ontario is not sending out any invites to apply for nomination till November 2016 as they have exhausted the quota. They shall reopen in November 2016 when they have the 2017 quota from Federal government. Check this link for more details http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPINTAKE.html.

My score is less.
Is it any chance to get pr through nomination?
Please suggest?

The most popular PNP is OINP. Ontario's 2016 quota has been exhausted, they may start sending out invites in November 2016 once they have the quota from Federal government for 2017. You can check OINP's latest update dated May 9, 2016 here http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html.

For other provinces, you will have to track individual provinces to see what are open at the moment or to know when they would open next. Check the following links to know more about PNPs.

Thanks Stanlee. Would it be possible for anyone who has got a PR Visa to share his number and I could call once to understand the process in detail to avoid going wrong...

thanks in advance...

There are no implications of selecting any number of provinces in the Express Entry profile.

In addition to what ramansingh05 has mentioned, if your CRS score is 450+ (based on the past trend), you have a chance to get direct ITA and you need not go through any province (state). If you do not have enough CRS score to get direct ITA, then you can apply to any province to nominate you, if nominated you will get 600 points added to your CRS score which will make you eligible to get ITA in the next draw.
