I came to canada about 5 years ago. Got my master in 2016 in Ottawa then moved to Montreal for work. Have applied for CSQ in April 2017 and still waiting to get it approved. I also got into EE pool about two weeks ago and got invited to apply 2 days after.
I am wondering if I am able to apply for EE instead of taking the Quebec route. Do I have to quite my job and settle in Ont if I provide the officer enough evidence for my intention of residing in Ottawa (I have my uncle in Ottawa and applying for jobs there)?
Is it possible to be a principal residence of Ontario and work in Montreal after getting PR? Would it be problematic later when applying for Citizenship?
I have a colleague who did exactly this route and he became a PR a few months ago and I am still waiting for my CSQ. It will take minimum 15 months after getting CSQ to get the PR from Federal and it is wayyyyyyyyy longer than I expected.
Also, my work permit expires in April 2019. Assuming I apply for EE now and lets say it take longer than my work permit expiration (worst case scenario) would it be possible to extend my Work Permit? What if I have a CSQ by then?
Sorry I am just so lost what I should do and I really don’t want to do anything against laws.
