Hi,

I am working as a software professional and planning to file for express entry. Is there any chance to get a PR? My IELTS score is 7
and I have a post graduation and more than 9 years of experience.
Do we have to go through a consultancy or it can done by my self?

Thanks
AR

If you are confident, with the help of this forum, you can do it by yourself... Initially you can check your CRS point from this link..

You should definitely apply.. there is no harm in applying.. also you even don't to pay anything to apply.. Just create your profile and submit.. Time will say what will happen later.. in the mean time you can also try to increase your points.. BTW.. there are quite a number of candidates between 350~400. But at this point very hard to predict when your point range will be under the ITA limit.. may be around 3/4 months.. keep faith.. patience is the key... :)

Setting up your Express Entry Profile is as easy as creating a new Email address in Gmail.. You just need to go along the way and enter your personal data..

If you didn't assess your education yet, then you may need to use services of WES (preferred) or ICAS to verify your education.. From following link you can get some idea about how to avail their services.. go through the website and check links associated.. Hope it should be bread and butter for you to understand the procedures..

If you have PG plus 9 years experience , then your EE score should be higher than 357 I think

Please use this calculator. For 9 years you should have higher. If you take IELTs again and score 8.5, you have very good chance to get ITA in 2-3 draws
