HI,
i want to know about how much points i will get based on my study for express entry?
i have done bachelor of engineering in electrical from INDIA and done master of science from USA. so if i submit my application to Express entry then how much points will i get based on these two degrees?
will CIC give point for only counting master degree or do they count both degree points and make it total ? how much total could i get based on this? how does it work?
can anyone suggests me here?
Thanks,
DK

You need to get your educational credentials assessed. Check this thread to know more about the process http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/educational-credential-assessment-eca-from-wes-step-by-step-guide-t394160.0.html

my question is that do cic count both degrees point (bachelor and master ) if i upload both certificates? if yes, then i can get separate points for each degree which can increase overall points for my express entry profile ? am i right ?

No, they will only count your highest degree. So you will get 135 points because you have a Master's degree (or 126 if you're married).

In your case, you get highest points for Masters provided your ECA report says so. Please note that sometimes Masters do not get assessed by the assessing agency as Masters, in that case it would be advisable to send both Masters and Bachelors. The advantage in this case would be that you can claim points for 'two or more degrees...' which would give you more points than just Bachelors.

If you are getting your ECA done from WES, for some countries WES mandates that, even if you plan to get only your Masters assessed, they would still need to see your Bachelors as well. WES also does not charge you by the number of degrees that are getting assessed. So it would be better to send both.

WES is weird, i had 4 year bachelor and 1 year associate in Ukraine and they counted it as bachelor and Master so i claimed points for master. But i think it highly depends on Country where you from. Get your WES done, send all that you have and only than you will know for sure.

Thanks Stanlee and Istari for helping me here.
one more question is that how much time CIC takes to give CRS points to candidate after submitting express entry profile into system online?

Thanks again!

You get to know your points immediately after submitting your Express Entry profile. If you are referring to profile updates, the chnages would reflect in 24 hours along with points update.
