CIC should update their website with the Average Processing time per Visa Office. That will give insights to the true state of things

Yes, they should. But I am not sure about the data that they have. Either it is too less for an accurate prediction, or they do not want people to bug them. Therefore, they are playing it safe with 6 months. Maybe in 2018, we can expect something as tentative processing times that may truly predict something concrete.

Big ask it is.
They are lazy in updating the status of the current fields which we have there.

That is most interesting, vensak. I believe mine cleared the Medical, but as to the rest, I have no way of knowing if I made it through or not. I wish there was a more effective way of automating the login process to run an autocheck on the application every day to see if there's a change. I genuinely do not know whether mine is the NDVO or, perhaps, the Bangalore VO at this point, in light of the fact that they both apparently do visa processing for PR and Express Entry. I suppose it's because of this that perhaps the processing times for India atleast appear to be a lot faster than before.

On this weekend, I was just crossing the High Commission of Canada in my city wondering whether my application is in the hands of one of the agents sitting in this building or is it still at CIO, Sydney. What a thought :)

I think a virtual wager would be interesting. I say CAD 1 on atleast 1 PPR before 31 Jan 2017 ;)

Profile finally Updated!

Medical changed to "passed"
Background check changed to "in progress"
review of submitted documents changed to "provided"

That's a good sign, I believe! ;D :D

Congrats! All three items in a single update or were each on different date?

All updated single date Jan. 22

I shall bet you one CanadabuckTM that it doesn't. :P

Really, though, there needs to be ground rules because it's gotta have a cut off date that doesn't make it seem still plausible. Like, it needs to be any profile that had an AoR after, say, 7th December for it to count.

I was at a recent getogether with some friends, one of whom is also in migration, but to Australia. He remarked that they know exactly which VO is processing their case and have, at times corresponded with them directly. This is in contrast with my experience thus far for the application to Canada, where you never really know any details about the person who's actually handling your case. It is highly unlikely they'd do this (in fact it's also likely a violation of privacy), but it'd be certainly interesting if they Uber-ified it, with a "Your VO officer is XYZ", with information on average processing time for cases and their scoring, along with say, other metrics deemed pertinent or handy for the applicant to know.

Wow, BCIP! This is impressive. Good luck with the application!

Hi ,
Is there a difference in processing time between CEC Inland and CEC outland.
I am currently CEC inland, but will have to leave Canada by March due to personal reasons.

December 1st 2016 - AOR

Hello December ITA guys!

Is there anyone like me who had no any change in profile even after 44 days of AOR. My AOR date is Dec 10 and since then not a single change was observed in my profile. My NOC is 3131. Is there any role of NOC in the review of eligibility check or file status. Is it possible that due my NOC it is getting delayed. I am in US but my work experience is from India. My VO is most likely Ottawa. Experts please shed some light. Getting worried everyday.

Thanks
Shrinidh

I think it's less of the NOC and more the VO. Seems Ottawa is backlogged.
