Hi,

I recently received nomination from AINP (Alberta Immigration Nominee Program). I am confused whether I should send normal paper application to CIC office (Sydney, Canada) or make express entry profile & send express entry application. The problem with express entry application for me is I have to give English test (IELTS or CELPIP) which was not requirement in Alberta Nominee Program. I have 1 year experience in NOC A type job, so have to get higher marks in English exam for express entry requirement. Whereas the processing time for normal application is more than express entry processing time. Please suggest which option I should go with.

Thanks

If you have a good nomination and a long term job, then stay with the nomination program and work hard for your organization, they will take you place son.

I also got nominated by alberta last year and already applied for pr in the regular way, but its weird cause i needed IELTS results. Anyhow..i also applied under EE. So i suggest for you to do the same, apply for pr using your an and try to do the ielts as soon as you can so you can apply for EE. The old way is taking around 18 months, but EE suppose to take max 6 months.. So my suggestion is to apply for both. ;)

So basically, you can apply for both at the same time?

Did you get assigned 600 points though? I also have PNP nomination; but the status is shown as pending; and asks me to confirm the nomination from province.

I look at OINP and they say:-

I have a nomination certificate from Ontario and I have registered for Express Entry. I have heard that candidates will be awarded 600 points in Express Entry if they have a valid nomination from a province or territory. Is this true?
CIC will award 600 points on its Comprehensive Ranking System for provincial/territorial nominations that are granted as part of the Express Entry process. Nominations that are granted outside of the Express Entry process will not be awarded the 600 points.

So it does not look like having a nomination certificate guarantees you 600 points. Well some clarification would be awesome on this point.

The question here is getting the 600 points and I do not think existing nomination certificates issued outside EE program are allotted 600 points. Also, ALberta does not have any EE quota.

Yes i have 600 points cause i have job offer...but u cannot apply EE using your Ainp!

Yup. You cannot use AINP nomination certificate to claim 600 points under EE.
