I wont be heading up immediately. I will do my landing later down in the year, and then head up permanently early next year, I plan to settle somewhere in the Toronto GTA. What abt you Tish?

I am going up in September for about a week and return to Jamaica.

I got my ielts result today. I feel so dissapointed and very sad:

Hi Candz,

Sorry to hear about the test results, I converted your IELTS scores for you on the canadavisa site and I got the following CLB scores:

Reading: CLB 6
Writing: CLB 6
Listening: CLB 9
Speaking: CLB 10

Congrats on the speaking and listening! If you are applying as a Federal Skilled Worker, or Canadian Experience Class you will need a minimum CLB of 7 in all 4 language areas. If you are applying to the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the minimum language score is 4 for reading and writing, so if you are applying under FSTP your express entry profile would be valid, otherwise no. The problem is, even if your profile is accepted, then your CRS score will most likely be in the range of 300 - 350, which is not a very competitive score.

Its good that you are planning to take the test again, language has a pretty heavy weighting on CRS, so if you improve reading and writing scores your CRS will be much more competitive. There are resources you can use to practice and improve your proficiency where necessary, im sure you will do much better next time.

There is no legal option to do that as a FSW or CEC candidate, best to wait till your scores improve

Update: Did the landing on June 20th at Pearson in Toronto. Reached Canada around 6:30pm and the whole process took about a hour and a half... That was because the lines were moving slowly (out of 17 stations only 4/5 people were working). Had to declare the money so that meant a second customs line which was also moving slowly.

Didn't get a hassle at any point... Bags came through fine.
Easy enough process.

Didn't change. Just stopped here for a few days. I used Westjet and had no issues with them.

Hey - unsure about the process but dont you need to go up for like 3 months or so to get the paperwork/health in order and then you can move back and forth?

Just want some info on a Company getting an LMIA to assist with my application

- How long should the advertisement be?
Any tips what they (company) could use to reinforce their claim about not finding someone suitable?

Had my credentials assessed by WES (equivalent to a Canadian BsC 4 years).

Did a post grad (1 year) in Canada

Did my language Exam CELPIP (S: 9, L: 11, R: 12: W: 10)

Currently, working in Canada (Ontario) on a PGWP. Since PNP is already filled EE is my only option.

Seems like a long winded process I had to go through but still regardless of how "good" my results were and the fact that i attend school in Canada should've made the transition simpler.
However, to my surprise it is far from it.

EE: score was 452 according to canadavisa calc (wife has not done the language test) and I also have to show PoF.

Hi Everyone, I am just beginning the process of my application through EE. Congrats to all the Jamaicans who were successful! Its so inspiring, I can't wait for my turn, so I want to sit the IELTS exams at UWI, any idea how to get an earlier date. They are at November now. And this is the first step in the process, I am getting my education assessed through WES then I can join the pool.
