Hi! Good day! I am a Permanent Resident and landed Feb 2016 as a single mom together with my son. April 2017 I got married with my long time boyfriend from our country. I hired an Immigrant Consultant as a representative in applying for Spousal Sponsorship. I asked her should I change my Marital Status in everything I had filed here in Canada and she said do it if I already changed my passport. So this Jan 2018 she asked for NOA (Notice of Assessment) for the proof of income to send to CIC so I changed my marital status in my MyCRA account. In Feb. 18, 2018 they sent me a letter asking me an explanation letter about my Change in Marital status. I asked the accountant I filed my tax to but she said she’ll do it at the end of April 2018. CRA just gave me 90 days to explain about it si in May 18, 2018 it will end. So I’ll ask here if what should I include with the letter and ehat should I explain to them. Thanks!
