I am a Canadian Citizen. My wife is a permanent resident who's status has expired. We have been abroad in Israel for the past 4 years. My wife, however, is a US citizen and carries a US passport. We are planning to visit Canada in about 6 months' time. Can my wife simply enter Canada as a visitor with her US passport, since that is a non-visa status passport to Canada? Does she have to get the eTA?
How does her being a former permanent resident status effect her entry to Canada, if at all, or is it the airline's discretion?
