According to the CIC website, one can re-enter Canada using a Confirmation of Permanent Residence instead of a PR card when returning in a private vehicle.
Has anyone experienced any issues with that (in particular at the Peace Arch crossing in BC)? Does one have to go through extended questioning when using Confirmation of PR instead of PR card? Should we prepare to spend a lot of time at the border?
We need to take a short trip across the border, which can be easily cancelled if re-entering with a Confirmation of PR is huge hassle and risky. On the other hand, we would like to take this trip if re-entering with a Confirmation of PR is as easy as with a PR card.
Thanks.
