Hello,

Sorry if this question has already come up. I was not able to find a similar thread.

I intend to use my foreign passport and my provincial health card as my two pieces of personal identification while applying for citizenship. They list a health insurance card as one of the options here. I don't have a driving license, so the health card remains the only option left to me.

My OHIP card expired on 01-November-2020. Ontario's site says: Health cards have an extended expiry date until further notice. We will notify you when you need to renew.

Do you think there might be an issue in using an expired card as a piece of personal identification (even though the government extended their validity)?

Thanks in advance for any help/clarification!

Hi! I believe you should be okay with expired health card if the government officially extended its validity.

If you don't have a driver's license, you can submit your Ontario photo card. It is accepted for personal identification.

Good luck!

Thank you very much! Unfortunately, I did not even get the Ontario photo ID either. Should have done it...
