Expedite application

Hi there,

I am sponsoring my mom and the application is now on step 2.
My mom is now in Canada on a tourist visa and will be staying for a couple of months.
I am just wondering if it will expedite the processing of the application if I inform CIC that she is here?

Hi Mehmeh,

The tourist visa and sponsorship application are two different and separate thing. Informing CIC that your mom is here in Canada will not give you an advantage towards your sponsorship. You can certainly apply for an extension of the tourist visa if need be, but again the sponsorship is an application in itself.
