hi all,

We just received a letter from CiC statin gout application processing is almost complete and now they want more pictures, and some confirmation that our circumstances remain the same. The form states that we need to get an eta if we want to travel to another country while we wait for PR card. We have a Xmas trip already booked to leave wed dec 20 to the USA. We went to fill out eta application and it says if you are a US passport holder you don’t need an eta. We are so confused as it contradicts the communication from the cic.

Any advice?

Thank you!

Can you copy paste the exact communication you received?

If I am reading it right, you are US citizens who applied for immigration to Canada and now getting your PR.

The thing that is contradicting in your post is by the virtue of the statement that ETA cannot be issued to Canadian/US citizens or PR of Canada.

Hi

Just a generic message. As an American, you can travel to Canada on the strength of just your passport.
