Hello,
A while ago I made a thread wondering how long it’d take to get a hearing date :

I submitted my refugee claim from within Canada on April 15, 2025, with legal assistance. Below is a brief overview of the steps completed so far:

• April 16: Received Acknowledgment of Claim, medical exam request, and IFHP coverage
• April 25: Received interview call, scheduled for May 6
• May 3: Completed and passed medical exam
• May 6: Attended interview, completed biometrics, had documents collected, received brown paper, and was informed that my claim was referred to the Refugee Protection Division (RPD)
  • As of February 13th I got an update on my portal showing that my background check was completed.
Now all that’s left is to get a hearing date and I was wondering if anyone would know how long this process is going to take. I was thinking to hopefully get a hearing date before the end of the year but I’m not sure with the backlogs.

Thank you so much !

Don't Worry my background check complete on 28 January 2026 Ontario. Still waiting for notice to appear from irb Toronto office claim file 2022

I also got my background check completed in January 18th 2026. I filed my case on May 26 and got a confirmation of referral to IRB On June 4th 2025. But I didn’t see any updates until January 18th 2026 when my security background was completed. I’m in Vancouver, BC.

Can you DM me? I am also based in Vancouver. Your case process is faster than mine. I filed my case on Feb 2025 and background check done on Jan 2026.
