I got my passport with Entry Visa back on Friday December 10th. They gave me a single entry visa valid for 6 months. Still waiting for my Passport surrender even though it says document ready for collection. I applied for entry Visa on November 24th, it reached on November 25th and they acknowledged receipt on November 29th and started processing it. The status came as "Ready for Dispatch" on December 9th and I called them to send it ASAP as I had already paid for document drop off through Purolator. If anyone has any questions about this process, let me know.

How long you can stay with entry visa in india?
The stamped visa is for a duration of 6 months From December 8th to June 8th. So I am assuming you can stay up to the end date on your visa.

I am in a similar situation, need to travel back to India in Feb and planning to stay there long for some time.
I got my Oath invite just recently.
Do you knwo if below plan is possible
If I apply & get my canadian passport, surrender my indian PP and then get entry visa. (like you did)
And later apply for OCI while in canada as well. And go to India on my entry visa.
Can we ask BLS/CGI to deliver the package to an Indian address.
And if not, what if I get it couriered it to me in India personally.
Will there be any issues at the Indian border while leaving, that I entered India on entry visa, and come back later to Canada, lets say after an year with an OCI.

I called BLS to ask about this and they said that I will need to write a cover letter explaining that my surrender application is under process. The ref number has to be included in the cover letter.

The website says certified check for entry visa. Did you confirm that we can use bank drafts?

Picked up my Entry Visa on Dec 4. Its 6 months Dec till June. Multiple entry. Visa type is X-1.
