There are enough survival jobs in Toronto & GTA. Reasonable earnings from it and would not be any problem in paying for rent, food and bills.
Sorry, can't live like a king with that but is enough to keep floating and find jobs in your area of occupation or study.

Good morning from Bah. This is mostly the reason why I like this forum...Thanks for the info Explorer101, this is a light at the end of the tunnel. God bless you always. :)

Qorax, great work as always.

People like you (Qorax and Explorer101) who keep our spirits up to land on a country with no relatives and nowhere to go.

I wish both of you all the best.

May God shower blessings to all of us.

Thanks again to you both.

H/all, I discovered an employment agency (close to you Anushauc), the corner of Sheppard and Yonge. They take resumes for many professions, including IT, (except teachers of course, nobody likes them here :))). So give it a try.

All the best,
Mona

Hi

they don't really like teachers? :o

You made me worried. Why don't they accept resume from teachers?

Explorer101, Information provided by you had relieved me. Someone here said that even survival jobs are not in canada.
kindly tell what other type of jobs are available in Toronto and GTA. Something about Mississauga,Bramption etc
How the new immigrants travel to wrk place
take your time but give in detail

Survival job, better to have that rather being unemployed and finishing savings . I tell you savings erode here fast, quite fast cause Canada is expensive.

I completely agree. There is nothing wrong with survival job and of course, one must be aware of his/her financial situation.

Hi friends,

Indeed, its really nice to see that landed friends are giving such info to us. Like the old maxim "today you help someone and tomorrow you will get the same from a stranger!!"

All the best to all...

Satish

Truthseeker, there are many survival jobs like warehouse incharge, storage assistant, security guards, data entry clerks, receptionist in small shops, helpers in shops, assistants in godowns, etc.

Best of luck to all.

Very useful and important thread ...

MAXIM placement room no 209 ( 1st floor) is in Malton ( Mississauga) in near WESTWOOD MALL towards KFC outlet. Run by a lady Shenaz, she has plenty of factory and storage jobs. Good thing is that she makes up to pick up and drop from the job, new immigrants need it since they have no car and even find difficult to travel. These jobs are mostly night time jobs and in night no public transit is there. Work is mostly in Mississauga / Brampton side.
I feel she charges commission on a higher rate and must be talked to reduce it. I will write her phone number next time after finding.
So land, next day apply for SIN card, open bank account and go to people like this, work & earn and then keep posting for regular jobs in your field.

She also supplies us housekeepers. We live next door... Beyond the McDonald's on Derry Rd.

Explorer 101, Good job! Keep it up.

New immigrants are going to be greatly helped by job oppurtunities like these, till they get a job of their choice.

Best of luck and keep posting.

Explorer 101 & Qorax hats off to u guys, for boosting our moral so much. I think this thread is going to be a gold mine for all the members and non members who are already in Canada or planning to move to Canada. It would be much more help-full if we can make this (the job center location, types of job offers, commission, other pros and cons etc) as a list and keep adding more info as others contribute.

Once again thanks for helping us & keeping our hopes alive. :D
