English as academic language before start of studies...pls help

I am Raza from Karachi. I met a consultant and with his guidance i chose Business administration - Accounting from humber college and as per him, IELTs will not be required but when i visited websites i found IELTS is mendatory then i asked him how can you get visa without IELTS. He asked me to enroll in English classes. I want to ask you can i work part time duting this course or not.
I don't have time for IELTS preparation that's why i thought to take this course. Please help me in following queries

1. What are the chances of getting visa if enrolled in this course
2. Can i do part time job while studying this course.

Would appreciate your prompt response.

2. Yes, one can apply for English language training course, but the course duration is just 6 months.
and you dont need visa for any course which is less thn of 6 month duration.

3. You can not work at all with 6 month course.

4. And finally, it will be very very difficult for you to get visa for this course. I am very sure that your file will be rejected. These English training courses are meant specially for non english speaking "developed countries" like Japan, korea, Germany., but certainly not for Asians !


5. And never, never and never trust agent. They only want to extract money from you. They are born to cheat.

I would recommend you, that just go and shoot that agent....

people from Japan and Korea are 'asians'. I guess what enfield meant was us south asians. People from here have gone for these 6 month English courses and then they over stay and work under the table jobs which is illegal. They find it pretty difficult to survive and always fear deportation. it's of no use.

even if you do manage to get a visa, you'll need a work permit(which you can get after a 6 month stay in Canada) to do an off campus job. Under the table jobs are everywhere. But if you get caught, you'll be deported and will surely have trouble going abroad again.

What i suggest is that take an Ielts exam(at home) and then go for that Business administration degree. that english course will do you no good. And as enfield mentioned, never trust an agent. All they care about is money.

Thanks for your suggestion. I was also thinking by just investing some amount like 20 30 thousand instead of wasting my hundred thousands in this course. Yeah this may be for those who are matric or inter pass.
What will happen if attempt ielts 2 or 3 times to get required band but the cost will only hit me for about 50 thousand max instead i go there, invest 2 to 3 lacs and also being afraid for deporation. I may join in Apr or sep 2012 instead of jan 2012

Tell me how much we can earn via on campus job, and can we do full time job in campus if sem is finished but still condition of 6 months still remain

Because, i will be having funds to cover for 1st year tution fees, i hope it will not be problem for me.

Is it possible, university and CHC isb accept my ielts score 5.5 although 6 bands are required for adminnion.

1. Yes you can work ON CAMPUS right from the first day of your academic start date. You shall be allowed to work only 20 hours per week and full times during summer and winter breaks. (but do remember these breaks are usually very short, just 10 to 15 days) and also campus jobs are almost always hard to get into.

2. Well forget about any potential savings out of your part time jobs earning.(either on or off campus). You will end up with paying for rents, which usually starts from $400 and for your food. In short, you cant save much out of it.

3. With 5.5 IELTS exist "absolutely no chance" to get visa. These Visa officers treat south asians like "possible immigrants, who want to be in Canada at any cost", so usually they tend to be "very negative" while going through papers. So you better give your best shot and aim for 6.0

Could you please tell me what is the scope of Accounting in job prospect and i have tution fee so i have no worries.

My problem at this moment is IELTS. Because if i don't take IELTS then i have to do course their and by enrolling into that i would not be able to do part time job.

What kind of jobs are available in campus and how much they pay. Is full time job opportunity during sem break available in campus.

I read on internet that student can work full time during semester break, christmas holiday as well... is that true.

1. Yes, accounting is in demand in Canada. You will benefit from it, but simple accounting diploma or degree isn't going to work. Canadian employers looks for C.G.A accounting certification. CGA is the most sought after certification which validates your knowledge.

2. On or Off campus jobs, don't expect to get more then $8 to $10 per hour (its the minimum wage rate in Canada). Yes you can work full time during holidays and breaks, but these breaks and holidays are usually very short in duration, so dönt expect to make much out of it.

3. On campus jobs usually University led jobs. It consists of Teaching coordinator, Marker-Grade, tutor to junior students etc, etc. All these jobs require good academic records and english skills. Since these jobs are in short, so usually its tough to bag as such.

4. IELTS toh clear karna he hoga, nothing can be done without that !

honesty, i dont know much of it. Since last almost two years i did "extensive and indepth" search related to MBA admission ONLY. And I really dont know much about other stuff like Diploma, college or even PG diploma. So whatever I am writing here is solely based on MBA requirement and ofcourse, whatever I experienced during visa process.

Can you tell me any other university who can offer master or diploma in accounting on low fee i.e CAD 6000

Also tell me is there any concept that employers prefer universities instead of students ability.
