Hi,

You can see the admission requirement on the Department website. The University of Toronto, York and even Concordia may be tough to get in. But again your admission depends on your profile, academics, work history (if any). It require efforts to get into a good Master level course

For more information you can refer; http://www.canadian-universities.net/Universities/Programs/Computer_Sciences.html

2. Transcript from University of Pune –

Your college has NO ROLE in the issuance of your transcript. You must apply at the ‘Registrar Office', University of Pune.

The process is:

1. First download ‘transcript issuance form' from the University of Pune website. And fill up and submit the same at the counter of ‘Examination/Admission building' and request for one transcript. You have to show original mark sheets/degree certificate (or provisional degree certificate) and pay around Rs. 600 per page transcript (or it may be around Rs. 700 per page) as a ‘bank challan' in the branch ‘Bank of Maharashtra' (Just next to that counter).

2. Visit University again after 8 days to collect your 'open transcript' (it's a rule to issue transcript only after 8 days)

3. After getting your open one page transcript (which is duly signed/certified by the ‘Controller of Examination, University of Pune), visit ‘Registrar office' (Admission section) and request for the sealed envelope for transcript and here again you need to fill up one form and to pay Rs. 100 per envelope by way of ‘Bank Challan' at Bank of Maharashtra branch.

4. After 8 more days you again need to visit ‘Registrar office' (Admission section) to collect your Transcript (sealed and attested in a white envelope)

Tips:

1. You should apply for ONLY one set of original open transcript at the “counter” (they will ask you how many sets you require!). And once you get your open transcript, you can make its photocopy and get it attest/certified in the ‘Registrar Office'. By this you can save money. In short, apply for ONLY one original transcript and make its photocopies, and get it attest from the Registrar office along with a sealed envelope.

2. You must carry your own white envelope. It's a must.

3. Do not forget to carry all originals (with two sets of photocopy for each required set). There is one photocopy facility available in the University campus but it's around over half kilometer away from the ‘Registrar office'.

4. Keep in mind its 16 days process to get sealed transcript set (no chance to argue/request).

- Get ready with 6 sets of transcript. Normally you submit one (some schools even ask for 2 sets) set of transcript at the time of applying for courses. Your school may ask for one more set at the issuance of LOA.

Hello Lovely_16

I will begin with giving you a hint about my background and then I will proceed to reply to your question.

I graduated from the University of Mumbai(BE CPMN ENGG 2011)with 73% marks/I have given My GRE (1430) and IELTS(8.0)

I applied in the third year of engineering to:

U of T
UBC
YORK
RYERSON
U OF A
MCMASTER
WATERLOO

I got rejected by all those universities.

Then I applied to CONCORDIA and will be joining it in Jan 2012.

If you are truly exceptional, consider applying to the bigshots located in TORONTO.If you are on the average side do add in a few safer options.

the thing is Universities in Ontario are in high demand. And besides Indians there are the chinese who are alos vying for the admissions.Besides the first priority is given to

Citizens of CANADA
PR holders
People residing in CANADA
International Students.

So the competition is fierce. But u can always try ur luck.

Best of luck for ur admissions.
(HEY enfield anything wrong that I have mentioned.)

Hi,

You are talking based on your “experience” and that’s matter a lot... Your experience is definitely important for us. Even I was struggling to answer the same since I have no experience in the admission process of engineering. But somewhere I feel that there is nothing like “priority based admission”. Yes, they might follow some sort of quota system for international students (I am not sure of this)

Thanks canada Help for sharing ur experience with me. :)
I already know that it's extremely difficult to get into ontario universities these days. Your academics are good but may be ur bad luck that u didnt get admission into these univ. Mine academics is lower than u, don't know where do i stand......one thing is in my favour as i m having MS degree with first class. But definately i will try as my dream is to go for MS.....atlast God Knows.

Now i have decided that i can do one thing: first to go for Graduate certificate course and earn good GPA(try to get 4/4) and then apply to univ for MS. As many univ consider CGPA of last two years of study.
What do u think about these idea ????

Hello lovely 16

i think that ur path is well planned.Once u r in canada u are given a preference over other international applicants.

I have a brother in CANADA.did his MBA from Rotman School of Management. no great academics to boast of,but he was on deputation with TCS for 4 years in TORONTO before he applied for MBA.he said they will let seats go vacant instead of filling them up with less meritorious students.

So all the very best for ur future.Again I would mention that it's a well planned move on your side.
