Hello,

I have a few questions to ask you guys.

I am receiving EI which is 36 weeks long and I have 12 weeks left.
As I am about to have more expenses I know that EI would not be enough to help me out.

Therefore, I want to go back to work as soon as possible. So Let us say that I find a new Job
by NEXT WEEK Dec 6 - Dec 12 and start working on December 14th, 2015... if I get paid let's say 2 weeks later on December 26th, 2015
WHEN SHOULD I report to EI to stop EI, or simply I can stop filling out my declaration? My next EI is on Dec 22nd, 2015 so what I want
you to help me with here you guys is to avoid THE CONFLICT between EI on 22nd and Probably Pay on 26th so what should I do in such a situation?

If I receive 4 more weeks, what will happen to the 8 remaining weeks?
I do not want to report to EI about starting working and a few months later they SEND A LETTER OUT SAYING THAT I HAVE TO PAY BACK...
I need some cool piece of minds here to deal with this --- :) Thanks a lot for your time and consideration. Cheers & Peace.

Hi,

Check out the official sites where you can find all information you need:

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/service/earnings.shtml

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/electronic_report/information.shtml

One thing is sure, you have to report all earnings while you are receiving EI benefits. In regards to this you may want to check out this site as well:

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/fraud/fraud_serious.shtml

Hope this helps,
Christine
