Hello everyone,

I am a Moroccan applicant. My employer-specific work permit application under the Francophone Mobility Program was submitted in mid-October 2026, and I completed my biometrics on October 19, 2026 (VFS Rabat).

The job is Front Counter Attendant at a Tim Hortons in British Columbia (Lillooet / Cache Creek), full-time, $18.25/hour, with a signed contract. My file was prepared by a licensed immigration consultancy in Surrey, BC.

I would like to ask people who went through the same program:
1. How long did it take between biometrics and the decision for applications from Morocco?
2. What are the common refusal reasons in Francophone Mobility files like mine?
3. Is there anything I should prepare while waiting?

Thank you in advance for any experience you can share.

Your work permit application raises some red flags. It is very hard to believe that Tim Horton’s can’t find someone to work who is in Canada already and there is no requirement for knowledge of French in Surrey. Just in case you have paid for this job you should know that would be immigration fraud and could result in a ban from Canada. What are your French language scores? You may be able to get PR versus a work permit.

Thank you for your reply, and for the warning — I take it seriously. Buying a job offer is not something I would ever risk.

Just to clarify two points: the job is not in Surrey — Surrey is where my consultancy is based. The job is in Lillooet / Cache Creek, two small towns in the BC interior, where hospitality employers genuinely struggle to hire locally.

Also, as I understand it, the Francophone Mobility Program is LMIA-exempt by design: it exists to encourage francophone immigration outside Quebec, so there is no requirement to prove that no Canadian was available. The French requirement applies to me as the worker — my French test results were included in my application.

My application was submitted in October 2026 and I have already completed biometrics, so it is now with IRCC.

I am interested in what you mentioned about PR. Would the francophone category of Express Entry be an option for a profile like mine? I would be grateful for any pointers.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond.
