Does inquiring about the status of your file through email cause delay in processing it, especially when you are in the final stages?

Asking the same question but in a stage on waiting for the medical. Will sending e mail enquiry causes delay in the processing???

1. If the application is within the processing time line of the office, they probably won't reply.
2. If they reply it will cause a delay, because someone has to find and look at the file (if the information isn't in CAIPS) and then reply to the email.

PMM,

Thank you so much, i have been asking this question a lot of times and hearing a reply from a senior like you will probably stop me now from asking the same question again.

But one more question, how about CAIPS? Will it cause any delay if I will order one while my processing time is still within the time frame specified?

Thanks again.

No, because the regional privacy and access officer just prints the CAIPS information off the computer screen.

Thank you very much PMM. With your reply, i have now decided to order CAIPS.

Thank you PMM.
it looks like I have to do more waiting without asking, I am already tired of the delay in my file processing, I do not want them to make it worse!!

Why not try CAIPS? As PMM said it will not cause any delay to your application.

I know, it is just that it has been this long after the medical and I have been expecting a decision by mail everyday while I know ordering and getting CAIPS takes almost 4-6 weeks to reach you, so I'd better wait with what is left of hope .

I do not really understand that why would it cause a delay in your processing time just to reply to a email inquiry?

I am not disagreeing with it, but the rationale for delaying the processing of your case is not enough. Some people have asked them questions and in couple of week get a PPR. I believe all they do is answer the email looking at their computer records, the email really doesn't go to the designated immigration officer, there is someone actually designated for this work.

I think if you are in Canada, you get the CAIPS faster than 4 weeks.

Can we ask someone in Canada to order CAIPS in our behalf? I'm in KSA.

I have sent an inquiry before

the reply was the update letter within 4 weeks

it was a good step to enquire about a delayed file

2 weeks delay are better than no response at all

So you actually think that in the 21st century someone actually has to go find your physical file, blow off the dust, look at the information on your file and then reply back to your email inquiry? Last time I checked they updated CAIPS every time something happens on a file. If not then whats the point in blowing off your money on even requesting CAIPS notes if they are not up-to-date?
