Email for passport request

What type of email do you get for passport request? I received an email but there is no change in my application. Also, I received the email directly in my mail account and not on CIC website account like usually we get the email that there is a new message in your account. But this time I got an email directly.I am afraid if its true or some fraud.

Exactly my situation. However, I checked and found that the address is authentic where we are supposed to send our passport. So I sent it and it got delivered. It's been more than a week, but no update neither in my profile nor in tracking.
