I'm an American citizen living in the US and will be filing my outland PR application in about 2 weeks. I will be joining my Canadian husband in Canada in a couple of months to wait out the process. I will be traveling back home for a couple of weeks during the process. Is it better to have CIC communicate with me via email or my home address in the US? I would prefer email as it will be quicker. If I choose email, will CIC send all communications through email or will I still receive snail mail depending on what CIC is communicating about? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I would say EMAIL. As this is one of the fastest and quickest way of communication. Once you have provided them with your email then all the communication including PPR would come through it.

I second the email choice, you will get updates faster. You can also see all your progress through ECAS once the ball is rolling. However, as an American you won't get a PPR. The only emails you guys will get will be your AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) and the SA (sponsorship approval). After that you'll have to log in to ECAS for updates.

Thanks to you both. I'll go email then. This board has been so helpful in guiding us through the immigration process.
