Currently nobody is eligible for 3131 category in what used to be FSW1 because CIC have frozen all applications without a job offer, until at least January 2013. Applicants with an offer of employment from a Canadian employer may still apply.

It is expected new rules will be announced early 2013 - we have no idea what yet, whether 3131 will still be on the list, or indeed if there will even be a list.

For what it's worth, my wife applied with a BSc in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and a PhD in Pharmacy, and was accepted as FSW1 - so if there are similar rules announced in January 2013 and 3131 is on the "list", I think you would be eligible.

A lot depends on whether or not this is community or industrial pharmacy. My wife's work experience was industrial pharmacy. Community pharmacy is regulated and you may be required to have a degree in Pharmacy itself to do the job. Industrial pharmacy is not regulated and so a pharmacy-related degree is sufficient to convince CIC that you have the qualifications needed to secure a job in this field once in Canada.

Sorry I can't be of any more help at the moment, but if you want to apply as skilled workers, securing a job offer is the only route in at the moment until at least January 2013.

Best of luck,
Wayne.
