I'm a US citizen who applied for PR status in September 2017, sponsored by my Canadian fiancee. It's been a long road and I jumped through every hoop--paid all the fees, provided all documents, all that jazz. Today I got a message that said, among other things, "it has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class." That's great, but what does it really mean? This is the first message I've received about my application in four months. Will I receive a final decision soon? Is progress finally happening?
"Eligibility Passed." But what does that mean?
