I have a funny story as well, I called CIC today not the embassy but CIC. I had a Canadian phone number and address on file so that's why the agent thought I was calling from Canada. I told him that I have applied online for a study permit and a visa 14 weeks ago on June 2nd and I have sent numerous case specif enquiries but none of them have been replied to. He asks for my client ID, name and email address and puts me on hold. When he come's back he thanks me to wait and then tells me my application has been approved and there has been some problem in the system (I couldn't understand what he was saying) I interupted and said could you say all this again? He says the important part is your application is approved and let me give you a verification number.
Then I say I applied from Kuwait and I need a form to submit my passport to the Visa Centre. And then he backs out he is like I am sorry I am sorry I shouldn't have given you this information we only talk to applicants within Canada. I say but I have tried getting in touch with Abu Dhabi no one replies me, he said sir I understand but you're calling a dentist when you have a heart problem I cant help you. 
Lastly I give him the application number to confirm he looked at the right application and then I finally asked him it is approved yea? He embarrasingly said yes. 
Now people who applied through the VFS are really lucky becaue they got VFS to give them any missing information, wheras people who applied thorugh online are helpless and their mercy to act efficiently.
so dissapointed...
