Egyptian PCC for Non-Resident

Hi all,

I had to start this thread after trying hard on my own.. I thought I may get someone relevantly experienced here.

I need Egyptian PCC for my wife, who traveled back to our home country. As she isn't available for fingerprints in Egypt, she had to visit local Egypt embassy and submitted her pics, fee and fingerprints.

According to the relevant Egyptian Consulate, they have sent the data of my wife to Egypt (Foreign Ministry ) by diplomatic post.

Foreign office doesn't know how a PCC for a non available person can be procured in Egypt.

Interior Ministry, which is responsible for issuing PCCs haven't got any letter from Foreign Ministry so far.

In a nutshell, I would like to request any foreigner/Egyptian who had been in the same situation (tried to get PCC for their stay in Egypt, while living in any other country at that moment)please enlighten me, where to go and to whom should I meet??

My husband is American but lived in Egypt for 15 years. We had to obtain an Egyptian PCC for him as part of the PR application process. He was living in Canada when we applied for the PCC and obtained it.

This was a few years ago now and unfortunately neither of us remember exactly what we did. But it was not very difficult. He definitely had his fingerprints done in Canada (not in Egypt). I believe we then mailed all of the information to the Egyptian Embassy in the US (because my husband is a US citizen) and they then forwarded everything to Cairo. We received the PCC back by mail to our address in Canada.

I'm sorry I can't remember exactly how we obtain the PCC. But it's certainly possible if you are no longer a resident.

Hi All,

Alhamdulillah, I have received Egyptian PCC for my wife.. It was a simple process, but the Egypt embassy mistakenly forwarded the finger prints and pics to another governmental department in Egypt, instead of Criminal record branch.. Otherwise the process would have taken 04 days max.

Folks,

I currently study in Canada and got ITA... Now I dont have a PCC... I have the option to go for a vacation (about 1 month) to Egypt and get PCC there (which I like).

Is this fine? ppl are saying some ppl got rejected as PCC issued before leaving the country!!!

Appreciated...
