Here we are talking about all those immigrants who choose to go back home, because they realize the new reality here. They go back home because their standard of living will be higher there.

The fact that there are so many people who leave Canada for better opportunities back home, made that overhaul of the whole law, because the government admits in that way that too many people who just refuse to waste their lives here anymore

This legislation does restrict freedoms.

And I think the Government of Canada is doing that, do you think it is restricting your freedom in any way?

What "freedoms"?

Read the Charter rights and you will know, unless you are bent on ignoring the facts.

Or perhaps its because those people never had any intention of living in Canada, and were trying to get a passport to make their lives (and their kids lives) more convenient?

Thanks Wilbur. We all are allowed a little fun. Aren't we?

Assuming you've read the Charter, why don't you tell us what "freedoms" are being restricted?

I mean, I cannot take what you say in a serious way!

And agree, why you don't tell us your point of view on the restrictions you mentioned?

There is no problem with them going back home. The new residency requirements will help them to make that choice before they waste their time applying for citizenship to what some here seem to think is a "broken" country. That way, they don't need to allow for the extra weight of a Canadian passport in their baggage

No extra baggage. They will be giving one to get one.

I can't do your research on my time.

Your stand on this, no freedoms encroached, my stand is completely opposite of that. Let's keep it to that. I'm not trying to convert you.

I don't see how this law will prevent them to continue to do the very same thing. Waiting here a little longer will not stop them. and the government will see that this law will be a fail

I don't need you to do any research for me. Rather, you should research it for yourself as you clearly don't understand what C-24 says, or what the resultant repercussions are. This law doesn't restrict any freedom at all. Canada is not a jail, and asking immigrants to stay here for 4 years is not akin to imprisonment.
