Dear All,

If a person go to study in Canada and completes his education but does not get desired profile and do some odd jobs to support his livelihood.In this scenario is he still eligible to apply for PR and if yes would he get 400 points for valid job. Please guide...

The short answer is no. There’s no guarantee he will have enough points to be selected for PR. Generally you need skilled work experience in Canada and even that doesn’t guarantee PR.

To get job offer points you need to get an LMIA in a skilled profession.

Thanks a lot for your quick response. Really appreciate. I have another query, presently my points in express entry are coming to around 380. So would it be a good idea to go to Canada for studies may be post graduate diploma with 2 years work permit and then get a job over there taking into consideration current job scenario in Canada and other legal requirements. Since i am not able to achieve current cut off of 440 points. PNP is another option but it is also difficult to get. I am married with one child. My age is also on higher side 38 years old.

You will only get a study permit if your studies make sense based on your previous education and work history. If your studies won't lead to career advancement it will liked be denied. Also needs to make sense financially given that you have a family. If you are the only earner in your family you have to have a good reason to go back to school.
