wow what is comparison sonea....I am coming from UK to edmonton inn shaa Allah soon and happy with your comparison. most probably i am coming to edmonton. i am from pakistan currenlty in uk.
what about uk driving licence? as i got it about 6 years old

i think a valid uk driving license is exchangeable with the canadian license just like USA driving license.

just to add up some advantages of living in edmonton, what i came to know a few days ago ... please other members correct me if im wrong...

did you know that GST in alberta is 5% and in other provinces is around 15% and fuel is 1.14$ here and around 1.50% in BC
mortgage too is a nightmare in vancouver you need to pay downpayment as high as around $100000 for a good house (not apartment) whereas in edmonton you get a fine big house $300000 in total .. for which you can pay around $50000 as downpayment and easy monthly instalments thereafter.

in vancouver if you need to buy a property and you can't pay 25% or 30% down payment you have to contact some government institute (dont know the name) which will request your bank to reduce the down payment to 5% and for this you will pay around $30000 just to get this letter and then obviously your monthly instalments will increase drastically.

I am thinking to take a direct flight from Karachi to Toronto and then to Edmonton on Air Canada. If I book now, it will cost 110 k for an adult.
