Pre-Assessed..
I submitted my hubs medical and police check with out application.
We have been in process in singapore since november 26. Will "medical recieved" appear on ecas next? Is that what we should be waiting for?

Maybe you should fax Ottawa and make sure that they've sent the medicals to Singapore.

if ecas doesn't show 'medicals received' yet, it's quite possibly that it be shown together with 'decision made'. usually next update in this case is 'medicals received and decision made' in one.

Mine showed medical received long before decision made. Perhaps it depends on the visa officer handling your case?

We sent our medicals second week of december. The eCAS hasn't ever updated in my case, it just switched once since applying to "IN process" when they moved the file from Buffalo to NY.

If anyone has experience of NY office changing status, please let me know.

I don't think so, as my 'medicals received' appeared the same time my status was changed to 'in process'. but I know one more person who was from the same visa office as me and his status was in process till the day it was changed to 'decision made' together with 'medicals received'. I guess it's just the way they handle the process.

Ours showed medicals received the same day as decision made. Buffalo all the information they needed to make a decision, and were simply waiting on the medicals. We faxed Ottawa to try and expedite the process and it worked!

What is the number to fax Ottawa and how did you know Buffalo had everything you wanted?

OfficeR, not office. :) I mean that the individual processing the case is probably also responsible for updating eCAS, so they may have different styles.

by some lucky chance our cases were handled by the same officer with one month difference. I guess, that was the way they received medicals. Mine were received from Ottawa. His - from London. :)

Ours showed "medicals received" & "decision made" and the medical had been done more than a year prior.

diddagirl, if they were waiting on the medical, how long before this was it done?

We knew Buffalo had everything they wanted as they sent us an "initial assessment", stating that an interview would be waived, they didnt require any further documents from us- and although they had proof the medical was completed, they had not yet received it. I figured since our case was very straightforward and they were waiting on medicals... this must be the only thing holding us back from getting a "decision made".
The Ottawa Regional Medical Office fax number is 613 954 6211.

tgchi13- it was not long at all (although this was possibly because I faxed Ottawa to try and ensure they medicals were sent. I have heard horror stories where Buffalo requested Medicals, for some reason they weren't made available by Ottawa and the file sits for months and months with no attention). Within probably 2 weeks of us faxing Ottawa, we received a decision made from Buffalo.

Thanks diddja, there are some things that we need to do ourselves this time (like bug Ottawa) so the knowledge is appreciated.

Thanks for providing that number, how long had it been before you reached out to Ottawa, our medicals were sent on 22nd December ( we had the process completed earlier, but the DMP sent it after two weeks). We know thorugh FedEx tracking that it was delivered on 23rd of December.

Do you think we should just wait and not annoy them or maybe a good idea to nudge them anyway?
