Driving US plated own car to Canada for short stays for Canadian PR (but not resident)

Hey Folks,

I have my Canadian PR cards (completed landing etc and got card delivered to my brother in Toronto who FedEx it to me in US). We don't plan to move just yet but plan to visit Toronto for short stays (1 week or less).

Can I drive my US car for those trips without having to import it. I think I can, but wanted to confirm from those who have done it or do it.

If you are not moving, officer will allow you without importing. Make sure you tell the specific number of days you would say and he will not talk anything on import at all hence you dont start asking questions and confuse them on import.
