go to your nearest rta office and ask them to give a letter that you have been issued license and authorised.by showing that letter you can directly apply for driving test in canada

Then you better don't even worry about your license here in Canada. Also, how old are you?

You can apply for G1 (written test) any time you wish once you are here and afterwards (depending what age you are) you can apply for G2 that allows you to drive here (even a truck up to 26 feet, with no trailer or air breaks).

No, there are a limited number of countries where you can exchange your DL for a Canadian provincial license. India is not one of them. You will have to start from scratch

For BC

Steps for getting your licence
If you have two years of non-learner driving experience:

Step 1:

Take the knowledge test at any driver licensing office.

The knowledge test is a multiple choice quiz that tests your knowledge of road signs and the rules of the road. You’ll need to get 40 out of 50 questions right to pass.

Step 2:

Take the Class 5 road test. Note: Bring another qualified driver with you for your test in case you don’t pass.

If you don’t have two years’ of non-learner driving experience:

You’ll need to go through the graduated licensing program. You’ll get credit for any non-learner driving experience you can provide.
