Driving License - Shall I get one from Bangladesh or Not?

Hi,

I will be moving to Toronto in March 2015 as a PR.

I am only learning how to drive now and if I want I can apply and get a Bangladeshi driver's license before coming to Canada.

But, I don't intend to drive in the next two-three years in Canada.

Now, my question is:

1. Should I spend the money to get a driver's license from Bangladesh? Will it help me even 2 years down the line in Canada when I want to get a Canadian driving license?

OR

I should just learn how to drive and then use the skills to get a first license from Canada?

2. Will it be more difficult for me to get a license two years down the line if I don't carry a Bangladeshi driver's license?

Thanks

Check out this page: http://www.ontario.ca/page/exchange-out-province-drivers-licence

You can't directly exchange a licence from Bangladesh, so you would have to take a driving test to get an Ontario licence regardless. So you might as well just take lessons and learn in Canada - there are a lot of reasons why this makes sense... you'll be learning in conditions that you will eventually drive solo in, and you'll learn the local road laws, etc.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response.

I also think that it would be better just to learn how to drive here and not spend the money to get a license.

Thanks for the good link as well.
