Driving in Alberta for more than a year

Hi,
I'm on a visitor visa in Alberta for more than a year, how can I drive LEGALY?
I see everywhere that a tourist "may drive a standard passenger vehicle in Alberta for up to 1 year ". What happens after that? because I can't get a provincial license because I'm only a tourist...

Since you are only visiting, can't you visit another province after you are done with AB?

Looking at your older post, you are Canadian citizen. Then you just apply a AB driver license.

Just wanted to make it easier and avoid dumping unnecessary info on you - My wife and I are in Canada and our sponsorship isn't confirmed yet due to covid extensive time, so she's a visitor here.
I have a local driving license and she drove with her International license, but it'll expire soon and we're trying to figure out what to do.

As per my knowledge, she will not be allowed legally to drive a vehicle in province on TRV with IDP for more than one year.

There is no alternative other than sitting on a passenger seat with you.

So this is one option to continue drive legally until she became PR.
