CIC just replied to 6 tweets to 6 different people with the one same answer "The first round of invitations will take place before the end of January."

I don't understand why they're using one generic answer, even people are being so specific that "today is last working day of January. This is so confusing. I think they are teasing us. :'( :'( :'( :'(

Yes, I tweeted them with the same question and they gave me the same answer....I don't know why the time says 9.41 pm in my email tweeted message when the time here in Canada is only 4.41 pm. I hope this is the verified CIC tweet.

Yes, the account is for sure legit. Because the Immigration Minister Chris also retweets from this account.

I think that account is being operated from BC where it is only around 2 pm. Although in Ontario it's about end of day. So I think chances are they may/may not do the draw today. Don't know honestly, it's just so confusing.

IMO, Draws can be announced and set outside of CIC's office time. The system is just computer codes. At least under normal operation, it doesn't need an operator to physically press a button or an announcer to start the draw. (It's not like actual lottery).

CIC people can simply schedule the draw at a certain time, draft news releases and stuff earlier and let the program run while they are out of office. Let say they made their promise of end of January, it could be 31 Jan 2015 23:59:59, we don't know.
