I intend to land just for the sake of completion of landing record, and will return to UAE within a week time. I will be carrying a bank draft for the required amount as POF to show at the POE.

Now my question is: Am I required to actually deposit the draft in a Canadian bank or I can simply bring it back with me to UAE and get it cancelled (as I am not going to live in Canada until next summer).

Alternatively, should I open a bank account at ScotiaBank in Dubai, deposit the require amount, and take the bank statement and certificate of balance with me to Canada as POF?

I will be obliged receiving your comments/advices please.

Kind regards,

Your this step entitles u to deposit the amount in a Canadian A/c (from Dubai) - & is not akin to bring in a draft to take it back. Both your steps r unrelated.

If u chose this step, u'd need to w/draw the funds here & carry it back to your homeland/country of residence - in whatever mode u opine/deem fit. It's not like bringing a draft & take it back.

However, as Explorer advices - both the formats r valid & possible.
