Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Is it easy to get a part time job in Toronto (if u know well plz tell the situation Scarborough)?
how should we apply for it?
within how many days on average can we find a job after arrival to canada?
whats the minimum wage?
which kind of jobs r available easily?
what are cash jobs? ( cant we get min wage in cash jobs?)
and how r these jobs scheduled?
most probably wat will be the centennial clg timings?

and example.
if u have classes frm 9am to 4pm, is it like u can go to work when ever u want? like to day u dint attend class so u work for the whole day tomorrow u r free frm 12PM so u then go and work for how many hours u want and on sunday u work for the whole day like that, how is this scheduled?
or its like when the employer accepts u he ill say particular time like u should come at 5Pm and work till 8pm or u should come at 5pm and u can work as long as u wish.

how does it work? I know I m confusing u but plz try to answer. better if anyone frm Canada answer it.

legally we should not work off campus for 6 months but if we r in need and if we want to work wat happens? is it so problematic to work with out work permit.
and one student frm Canada told me that he completed 6 months but dint apply for work permit as if he apply he should pay taxes, how far is this true?

good points mate..even m expecting the same answers..
minimum wage differs province to province .. in ontario min wage is $10.25

Through online like kiJI or after seeing posters in mall.

totally depends on you.

whats the minimum wage?
10 without tax. 9.something after tax

which kind of jobs r available easily?
serving, selling etc.

what are cash jobs? ( cant we get min wage in cash jobs?)
cash jobs are those jobs which are illegal and also not recorded in SIN.
They are not tax paid.

how is this scheduled?
it will depend on you and your employer.

it will create a problem they find out. You may be told to get out of Canada or banned from working in future. You can find an example in this forum.search it.

which college are you attending...???

Its a college in edmonton. but as of now, I am here in saskatchewan. U?

if u went there so early plz share ur experience :)

its strict over there as upto 6 mnth u are not mean to work if u are caught they will be forcefully send you back. min wage in ontario 10.25$. it depends on the employer regarding the timings of work.

If you want to work legally, you have to wait 7-8 months, bcas Work Permit is not issued untill you clear your first semester, so 6 month sem + 2 month waiting for Work Permit.

Also please note that Even after getting work permit, you are allowed to work 20 hours only per week but most of the employers require people who can work 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, and estimate 1 out of 20 jobs are part time jobs, so getting a part time job is really tough.

So student have no option but to go for full time jobs and work illegally. If get caught, will be sent back home.

As told to me by my close relative in Toronto.

so far so good:) people here are very welcoming and approachable but straight forward, I mean they will say what they want to say. Im trying to find work, but im afraid to do so coz its illegal I ll just wait till I am eligible to secure a work permit. good thing here I arrive at summer.. so i will have a gradual transition on weather. the hardest things that i encountered here are homesickness and jet log.. phew.. hope to see u soon here. by the way, in the immigration, the place where are you going to get ur study permit. they ask lots of questions but they are pretty easy. there must be a consistency. hope it helps. ty

I applied for study permit yesterday i.e. 17th July and for Centennial college.

This is Canada. Here are A LOT of part-time jobs for students: waiters, kitchen, fast food restaurants, cashiers at grocery stores, shop assistants, adminstrative jobs at small companies, tellers on-call at the banks...
