I am planing to apply for Canadian visa, and currently I am counting my points and come to this question.

I have 2+ years of experience as "Internet programmer and social media developer" and I am going to apply under this skilled occupation which will give me 11 points for overall 100 grading scale.

But I also have 3 years of experience as a "Head accountant", now if this experience will also be counted I will have additional 2 points. The website says "Points will be awarded for the number of years worked full time. In addition, only work in a managerial, professional or skilled occupation will count for points." so I have checked in National Occupational Classification document (www5.*hrsdc.*gc.*ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/pdf/PrintableVersionNOC2011.pdf) accountant is considered to be in professional occupation, you can see that on the page 31 of the given document. (just remove *)
--------------------------------------------------------
Major Group 11
Professional occupations in business and finance
111 Auditors, accountants and investment professionals
112 Human resources and business service professionals
--------------------------------------------------------

So if anyone can say for sure if my accounting experience will be counted or not, that would be great!!!.

Thanks and best regards,
Grigor

Dear gnazaryan

Good news for you. Your experience as "Head Accountant" will be counted. The Application Guide for FSW 2013 clearly states the following,

"In order to receive points for all of the jobs you have had over the past ten years, your work experience must be in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B of NOC 2011."

Please note that the condition of having one year experience in eligible NOC is the requirement for eligibility to apply as Skilled Worker. Once you are eligible to apply then points for experience are awarded for those jobs also which may not be in the current list of eligible occupations but fall under the above mentioned Skill types.

Since Accountants come in Skill Type A, your experience will be considered.

Good luck
Regards
