Hi All,
I am a Software Engineer trying to get PR. After college I didn't work for 2 years. After that I got the job in my current company.

Since I didn't have any experience and I wasn't a newly passed out of college, my company offered me the job as a "Software Engineer Intern" for the first 6 months. It was full time, paid and had the responsibilities of a normal Software Engineer. The pay was less though.

After 6 months, I became Software Engineer. I am working here for 3 years now, including the internship period. Does the first 6 months count as experience when I apply ? Can I count my work experience as 3 years or 2 years 6 months ?

Thanks in Advance

Yes this can be counted. But the system automatically counts when you put in your EE profile.

Thanks for the quick reply. Even if the system counts the experience as 3 years, Would somebody verify my work experience letter ? If checked, my experience letter will have the titles I held. Will they count it as 3 yeasrs or 2 year 6 months ?

Please excuse if my question sounds dumb, I recently started collecting info on PR. Couldn't find anything on the internet regarding my doubts.

Hey Mate,

I hope you got your residency!!

I am in a little bit of the same situation here, except that I only am working here for about 15 months, including the 6 months internship in the beginning. So did the IRCC count your internship as a work experience ? And is it fine for me to apply for Canada PR even if I haven't completed the 1 year work experience after my internship contract have expired ?

thanks
