She landed in November 2016 and did not work for the remainder of the year. I was supporting her financially during that time.

does she have "World wide income"? meaning did she earn income outside of canada at all during 2016? If so, Depending on how many days she was physically present in canada for 2016, you will want to look up the definition of "resident for tax purposes" on the CRA website to determine if she needs to disclose her world wide income. if she did not earn any income anywhere in the world, then she does not need to file.
The only source of income she had during her time before becoming PR was the money I sent her every month.
