Im currently in the middle of the process to apply for citizenship in Ontario , i just did my citizenship test about a month ago and passed and just waiting for the rest of the application to finish at the moment. But today i got a Distracted driving ticket for using my phone during a red light, will that affected my application at all? It's my first ever ticket

Following happens for first conviction:
  • a fine of $615, if settled out of court (includes a victim surcharge and the court fee)
  • a fine of up to $1,000 if a summons is received or if you fight the ticket in court and lose
  • three demerit points
  • 3-day suspension

This does not fall under an indictable offence in Canada. So you should be okay.
