Does delay in PPR impact Landing time frame ?

Hi Guys,

I have a question running in my mind since past few days about PPR & time available for landing.

Since PPRs are taking quite a bit of time to come, I would like to know what is the impact of the delay in PPR on the landing time frame.

As per my knowledge, the PR visa is a single entry one & it bears the date of issuance as the day when medicals were done and is valid for just 12 months, which means that an applicant whose PR is approved has to land within 12 months of his/her medicals.

But there are cases where MR has been completed & PPR hasn't arrived even after 2-3 months.

Consider the case of a person who did his medical say in July, gets his PPR in Nov & assuming stamping gets completed by Dec.
So effectively he has only 7 months left to land ?

Is this information correct ? If yes, this would mean that the delay in PPR is eating into our landing timelines.


I would appreciate if you guys share your thoughts on this.
 
You are correct. Late PPR reduces time window for landing. In theory, you might have to do another medical if your PPR comes so very late :P

yeah you are right ....its 12 months from the date your medical was done
 
CIC consider MR done by Applicant for some other purpose i.e. WP extension and don't ask for MR request for PR application ?
If ans is Yes then what is validity ? I mean some one did medical in May 2013 and apply for PR in march 2014 so will that Medical will be considered and CIC will not request for MR ?

The question was specific to PR under CEC class, nothing else. Questions about MR's for other application types need to be directed to the appropriate forum.

Yes when MR done and sent we are all under a time constraint.

Following are milestones of my CEC PR application (applied on Dec 06th, 2012):

a. Medical Requested: Nov 11, 2013
b. Completed my medical: Jan 3rd, 2014
c. Wife completed medical except chest x-ray as she was pregnant: Jan 3rd, 2014
d.Chest x-ray of wife and medical of newborn child completed on: June 24th, 2014
f. eCAS status updated to medical received on July 24th
g. still waiting for PPR :-(

can anyone comment on the visa validity in my case? Will it be valid only until Jan 3rd, 2015 ( as my medical was done on Jan 3rd, 2014)? or will it be valid until June 2015 as the last applicant in my application did medical on June 2014?

Looks like it'll be Jan 3, 2015 for you at least.
