I am having trouble about the 1 year working experience requirement in CEC:
"*have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply"

I just graduated and I am working full-time(40 hours a week), but not a regular job (i.e. the contract has a expiry date), and the job falls under co-op program in the company instead of an independent contractor program. I am wondering does this experience count towards the 1-year requirement? My confusion is although the program is co-op but I already graduated (I know, irony :(), does that count as full-time working experience?

Thanks a lot

If they are ready to give you reference letter as full time employee for one year mentioning hours per week and salary then it should bE fine...wait what senior say here

I realize that on CEC website help centre it says "Co-op terms and apprenticeships completed before graduating do not count as skilled work experience. They are considered part of an educational program."

However, the "co-op" I am doing right now is not part of my education since I am already graduated... The company is just trying to save money so the category is still "co-op". I am confused if this count as work experience?

Thanks

Hello pxmyh,

did you find out if your co-op term after graduated counts under the CEC? I am in the same position as you were at that time.

Thanks,
