Hello,
I like to know if my girlfriend that lives in Venezuela and I'm from Canada and we both marry in Argentina. Can I still sponsor her to Canada in the future even if she still lives in Venezuela? The reason why I'm picking Argentina is cause Venezuela is so dangerous now for me to go there cause the corrupted government. So i'm looking to stay in Argentina for seven to eight weeks.
According to some information I found online, all you need is a "Couples must present a certified photocopy of their passports with a valid tourist stamp and provide an address, albeit temporary (this can be a hotel or friend or family member's home in Buenos Aires), and the length of their stay. Couples will be married at the Civil Registry Office that corresponds to the temporary address they provided."
(Sorry, this site is preventing me from posting links)
Venezuela marriage requirements is such a troublesome task. I need to get notarized documents/certificate to prove that I'm single in Canada and then translate it into Spanish. I'm not sure would this be the same for Argentina too? Overall will Canada accept this as a legal marriage? Will I have any problems sponsoring her to Canada with this path or do I need to marry her in Venezuela to make this all work?
Hope someone can help me out.
Thank you.
Calvin.
